The average Catholic gives 1% of income to the church - at Holy Spirit, this amounts to $3 million. Think what we could do if that average giving level was raised to the
level of the average Protestant - which is 2.5%. Then think what it would do if the average giving level were raised to the biblical 10%.
If Holy Spirit’s giving level was raised to a full 10%, the parish would receive an annual income of $30 million. At a level of $30 million, possibilities for our parish would
be bound and limited only by our imagination!
Funding at this level would make possible the development of critical programs that address the current and future needs of our parish across a near limitless range of areas (i.e.
education, health care, assisted living, etc.). One such program already underway is the Catholic Education Fund (CEF) - the central goal of this program is to provide all parish
children with access to a Catholic education. Imagine all of our children being presented with the support needed to be educated in a setting that reinforces our Catholic faith,
one that supports prayer and worship openly and balances the academic, moral, emotional and spiritual development of our children.
Stewardship is a response of “Yes!” back to God. He returns, in full, everything given to Him. The fruits of our giving will be enormous for our parish and one of the programs
already in waiting is CEF.
